SpectaSport LLC was founded by publicist and announcer Ken Getchell. Ken brings to the table over 25 years of sports marketing and announcing experience in everything from cycling, to pro hockey, to NASCAR stock car racing. In the late 1980’s Ken founded Superkarts! USA (now known as SKUSA). Using his original concepts, SKUSA has become one of the premier grass-roots motorsports sanctioning bodies in America.
SpectaSport LLC is dedicated to helping the organizers of participant-based sports events, achieve their full marketing and economic potential.
It’s been proven repeatedly that Americans will accept participant sports when they are presented in a professional and entertaining manner. After all, there’s a reason why pro football has cheerleaders, why pro baseball has mascots, why pro basketball has music -- and why every pro sport involves food and beverage. There’s a reason why every major sports team employs a staff of marketing and public relations people. Even those multi-billion dollar All-American sports realize they need to appeal to more than just pre-existing purists, that’s why they are constantly trying to engage and entertain mainstream America. SpectaSport provides these marketing and public relations services to participant-based event organizers looking to step up to the next level and engage their local communities and the local economic system.
At SpectaSport we believe that engaging mainstream America just makes sense. As comedian and film maker Woody Allen once said, “Wealth is better than poverty, if only for financial purposes.”
